Laura (Morante) and Franc (Alessio Boni) have recently separated, with Franc providing alimony to her to help care for their nine-year old son Luca. It’s barely enough to pay for daily expenses though, so Laura’s forced to take a part time job as a ‘phone sex’ operator, and Franc uses this ‘moral corruption’ to challenge for custody of Luca. Meanwhile, Luca, increasingly lonely, and traumatised by his feuding parents, invents an imaginary friend Tommi, who’s not afraid of the violent figure of his father.
